KEEPING IT HEALTHY
With so many parents becoming more aware
of the importance of healthy eating habits for children, we have
dedicated an entire section to this worthy cause. Kim holds a
degree in physical education and is an endurance racer athlete as well
and my sister (Linda, Kim's mother) has a bachelor of science degree in
natural health and is a certified nutritionist.
We, as a family, are
obviously focused on healthy eating, especially when it comes to the
children. In fact, my Grandson is not allowed to have sugar except
on birthdays and special occasions. We both enjoy baking memories so I
set out to find some alternative recipes. I asked Kim, Linda, and
other family members to share their ideas as well. We definitely
still have cakes at parties and all the sugary goo that goes along with
them, but we like to offer alternatives as well. Some children have
conditions, like diabetes, and cannot have sugar and other just “should
not” due to sensitivities to sugar such as hyperactivity. Whatever the
case may be, parents appreciate being given the option of no-sugar or
low-sugar foods. We have compiled our favorite healthy but
delicious recipes and have added some important information and creative
ideas as well. Keep in mind that good, healthy options are as fun as
you make them!
