BASIC YELLOW CAKE
INGREDIENTS 2 cups self rising flour 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup milk 2 eggs 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 9 inch round pans or a 9x13 inch pan. 2. Cream together the sugar and shortening. Beat in the eggs. Add the flour, milk, and vanilla, and beat until smooth. 3. Bake 20 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a tester, inserted in the center of the cake, comes out clean.
HOMEMADE HONEY CAKE

INGREDIENTS
1 cup honey 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup oil 4 eggs 1 tsp. grated orange peel 1 cup orange juice 2-1/2 cups flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 cup ground almonds (optional) DIRECTIONS 1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 13x9" pan and set aside. 2) Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir using a whisk to blend. 3)
In large bowl, combine honey, sugar, oil, eggs, and orange zest. Beat
well until combined. Alternately add the flour mixture and orange juice,
mixing well after each addition, beginning and ending with dry
ingredients. Fold in almonds. 4)Pour batter into prepared pan. 5)
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-50 minutes, or until top springs back when
lightly touched in center and edges begin to pull away from sides of
pan. Cool on wire rack. 6) Drizzle with warmed honey or icing of your choice.
BEST EVER CHOCOLATE CAKE
INGREDIENTS
2 cups white sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two nine inch round pans.
In large bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer. Stir in the boiling water last. Batter will be thin. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
Bake about 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cake tests done with a toothpick. Cool partically then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F then grease and flour two 8 or 9 inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the batter alternately with the milk. Stir in vanilla. Distribute batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cake springs back when pressed gently in the center. Cool in pans over a wire rack. When completely cooled, frost or fill as desired.
